Polymer composite developed from discarded carpet for light weight structural applications: Development and Mechanical analysis

Carpets are the three-dimensional product used as a floor covering in homes, offices, commercial centers, decorative purposes, etc. The average life span of carpet is four to seven years and after that, it becomes solid waste. discarded carpets causing significant hazardous effect on environment, climate, soil, various health issues. To overcome increasing waste, re-utilization essentially desired. This article focuses development polymer composites developed from nylon for lightweight applications. A modified technique Vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) was fabricate epoxy composites. tensile flexural tests evaluated mechanical performance proposed composite. composite manufactured two different configurations, namely, face- back-to-back-face (FBBF) back- face back (BFFB) with help VARTM setup. result demonstrated that fabricated BFFB has higher strength. high-resolution microscopy test samples shows feasibility produced functions. An attempt been made resue waste fabrication cost-effective products.
